50 years of Oru Desathinte Katha |Docu Series

Oru Desathinte Katha (ഒരു ദേശത്തിന്റെ കഥ) by S.K Pottekkatt is the novel which brought the second Jnanpith Award to Kerala. One whose prowess captivated generations of readers, establishing the novel as an iconic contribution to Kerala's literary heritage. In 2021, the novel celebrated its 50th anniversary. On this occasion, we at ARPO decided to revisit the novel, and the places and the incidents that inspired it.


The three-part video series looks into the life of the novelist, the changes that happened over these years to the natural landscape of the places the novel features, and a critical look into the way the novel approached Malabar Rebellion of 1921, which commommorates its 100th anniversary in the same year.
